Fitzrovia Chapel is one of London’s most breathtaking wedding venues — a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city. With its striking gold mosaic ceiling, intimate scale, and dramatic atmosphere, it’s no surprise that so many couples choose it for their ceremony.

As a London wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing weddings at Fitzrovia Chapel, and it’s genuinely one of my favourite spaces to photograph. Every corner of the chapel feels cinematic, and the way the light bounces off the mosaics makes for stunning, timeless images.

Why Choose Fitzrovia Chapel for Your Wedding?

Central London location – easy to reach for guests coming from across the city or further afield.

Unique atmosphere – the golden mosaics and gothic architecture create an unforgettable setting.

Perfect for intimate weddings – Fitzrovia Chapel is ideal for micro weddings and smaller ceremonies, giving couples a sense of closeness and privacy.

Dog-friendly – yes, you can bring your pup! The chapel is one of the few London venues that welcomes dogs, making it even more special if you want your four-legged friend to be part of your day.

Wedding Photography at Fitzrovia Chapel

Photographing here is a dream. The architecture provides natural drama, while the intimate size means I can move quietly and capture genuine, emotional moments without distraction. Couples often choose a nearby London location for portraits afterwards — from leafy Fitzroy Square Gardens to a city-street backdrop — giving them variety alongside the chapel’s rich interiors.

Things to Consider at Fitzrovia Chapel

Because Fitzrovia Chapel is such a unique space, there are a few things worth thinking about when you’re planning your wedding here:

Lighting & Flash Photography – The chapel is quite a dark venue, which creates a wonderfully atmospheric feel but can be a little tricky for photography. Personally, I don’t use flash during ceremonies as I prefer to let the moments unfold naturally without disruption. However, some photographers do use flash, and it can give a very different look to the images. After the ceremony, we used a touch of flash for a few couple portraits to create a more dramatic style. My advice is to check with your photographer in advance and decide what kind of look you’d prefer — natural light only, or a mix with flash.

Guest Numbers – Fitzrovia Chapel works beautifully for intimate weddings and micro ceremonies. It’s a very special space if you want your day to feel personal and close-knit.

Dog-Friendly Venue – If you’d love to involve your dog in your wedding day, Fitzrovia Chapel is one of the rare London venues that allows it. It’s a wonderful way to include your pup in the ceremony and portraits.

Portrait Locations Nearby – After the ceremony, many couples choose to take portraits outside. Fitzroy Square Gardens is just around the corner and makes for a lovely green contrast to the chapel’s dramatic interiors. Alternatively, the surrounding city streets provide a more urban backdrop.
