A Dream Wedding at Crowcombe Court

There are some wedding venues that seem made for storytelling, and Crowcombe Court is one of them. Nestled in the Quantock Hills in Somerset, this Grade I listed Georgian house combines breathtaking architecture, beautifully kept gardens, and a relaxed country house feel. As a wedding photographer, it’s always a joy to work here because every corner offers something unique — from the sweeping staircase to the colourful hydrangea gardens in full bloom.

Charlotte and Craig’s wedding at Crowcombe Court was the perfect example of how this venue brings elegance and warmth together. Their day flowed seamlessly from relaxed morning preparations to a romantic ceremony, before celebrating late into the evening with family and friends.

Charlotte & Craig’s Wedding Day

Charlotte looked effortlessly elegant in her gown, while Craig set the tone in classic black tie. Their wedding struck the perfect balance of timeless sophistication and relaxed fun, which is exactly what Crowcombe Court does best.

The morning began in the light-filled bridal suite, where anticipation mingled with laughter as final touches were made. Craig prepared in one of the house’s handsome bedrooms, giving us the chance to capture some editorial-style groom portraits that felt modern yet classic.

One of the highlights of the day was their confetti exit — a burst of joy, colour, and celebration against the grand exterior of Crowcombe Court. These natural, candid moments are always some of my favourites to photograph.

Later, we explored the grounds together for portraits. The hydrangeas were at their peak, creating a vibrant and quintessentially English backdrop for relaxed, romantic images. Indoors, the staircase and period interiors provided the perfect setting for more dramatic, editorial portraits that felt as timeless as the venue itself.

As evening fell, the celebrations moved into the atmospheric Victorian Ballroom and vaulted Undercroft. The laughter, dancing, and warmth of the guests filled the historic spaces, bringing this country house to life.
